I am interested in the sociocognition of professional conference interpreting. I approach this topic from the perspectives of corpus linguistics, computational linguistics and cognitive linguistics. My research has focused on how professional, social and linguistic conventions interact with human cognition to shape the process, product and reception of interpreting. I’m a methodologist; I apply advanced statistical and experimental methods to analyse multimodal, bilingual data. A side interest of mine is creating corpus-based analytical tools, especially for Chinese varieties. All of my research projects are written in the programming languages Python and R.
